Updates:

: San Diego Police SWAT escorts dozens from Naval Medical Center while continuing search room to room for reported active shooter. The pediatric unit, where there was suspicion that a shooter might be barricaded, has been cleared. All staff and children there are safe, according to police scanner traffic.

: A San Diego Naval Medical Center spokesman says: “We have found nothing which substantiates those reports. We are continuing to clear the building and make sure there are no casualties.”

: San Diego SWAT is “in the process of clearing the pediatric ICU" at the Naval Medical Center, according to police radio traffic.

: San Diego police SWAT is moving in on the pediatric ICU “to make sure there is no barricade” situation, one officer radioed to others.

: San Diego police SWAT surrounds the Naval Medical Center's pediatric unit after reports of that a shooter may be barricaded inside with children. Our source is police scanner traffic.

: A police dispatcher tells officers the “shooter is potentially in building two barricaded with children.” The building houses a pediatric area, the dispatcher said.

: One person reported hearing three shots in the basement of Building 26 at 8 a.m. PT, according to a Navy statement.

: Buildings are on lockdown as military police search the medical center room to room, with patients ordered to stay in their rooms, according to reports. The main gate is closed to all traffic. Several emergency vehicles, including a San Diego police SWAT truck, entered earlier.

: The focus of the incident is building 26, which reportedly houses a wounded warriors dormitory, an intake office for the medical center, a fitness center and a recreational center.
