Deflation Day follows five days after Valentine's Day. It marks when all of those helium-filled hearts have lost their lift and fallen back to earth. The flowers are wilted and the chocolates are eaten. Millions of mylar balloons litter the landscape, some stuck in trees. Men who bought temporary goodwill with a Red Lobster dinner may be back in the doghouse.

If you are wondering why you feel a little down today, you can blame it on Deflation Day.
