Donald Trump said student protests over racial issues at the University of Missouri were "disgusting" and the president and chancellor who resigned were "weak, ineffective people." Trump suggested the school needed a strong leader like him.

The GOP presidential frontrunner was speaking on FOX Business Thursday when the subject of Mizzou President Tim Wolfe and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin's resignations was brought up.

"I think the two people that resigned are weak, ineffective people," Trump said. "How we hire people like this?"

As for the student protests that brought about the resignations: "I think it's disgusting."

Trump called student demands, which include hiring more black faculty and staff and implementing a racial awareness and inclusion program, "like, crazy."

"So it is just disgraceful," he said.
