Maarten Schenk mainly writes about trending internet hoaxes and technology.  He also covers European affairs occasionally as he is stationed in Belgium.  As CTO Maarten keeps the servers running at Lead Stories, including our Trendolizer engine (patent pending).  Maarten came up with the idea for it out of a desire to be among the first to know about new internet trends, memes, videos etc.

Before co-founding Lead Stories, Maarten worked in speech recognition at Lernout & Hauspie (technology now part of Nuance), project management & blogging at Skynet, weblog software at Six Apart and social media trends at Distractify.
