Ted Cruz, who attacked the CNBC moderators for asking bad questions, later offered to buy "famous Colorado brownies" for Carl Quintanilla during the Boulder, Colorado debate.

The offer came after Quintanilla suggested that he and Cruz would not be having a beer together because of the Texas senator's dissatisfaction with the panel of moderators. First, Cruz suggested a shot of tequila and then he upped it to marijuana.

Recreational marijuana is legal in Colorado, site of the CNBC debate.

Earlier, Cruz said: "If you want someone to grab a beer with, I may not be that guy, but if you want someone who will drive you home, I will get the job done, and I will drive you home."
