Donald Trump tweeted bigs hints that he is closing in on choosing a vice presidential running mate. The presumptive GOP presidential nominee revealed he would meet with Joni Ernst, the senator from Iowa, on Monday. "I look forward to meeting @joniernst today in New Jersey. She has done a great job as Senator of Iowa!"

Trump met with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence on Sunday, presumably as part of the veep decision process. "Spent time with Indiana Governor Mike Pence and family yesterday. Very impressed, great people!"

His series of Monday morning tweets relating to his vice presidential short list also hinted that Sen. Tom Cotton from Arkansas was among the choices. "Senator Tom Cotton was great on Meet the Press yesterday. Despite a totally one-sided interview by Chuck Todd, the end result was solid!"

Two other names believed on Trump's short list are New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. There were no mention of these two in Trump's 4th of July tweets. With the GOP nominating convention convening in less than two weeks, a vice presidential announcement could be days away.

"The only people who are not interested in being the V.P. pick are the people who have not been asked!"
