Worse: your friends get in on the act by retweeting the most outrageous and unbelievable 'news' and acting like it is all true, filling up your Twitter feed with an unholy mix of satire, outright lies and the occasional real article.
But don't despair! Here at Lead Stories we have built up quite some experience debunking hoaxes and slaying untruths on the internet. We've gotten so good at it that we've automated a large part of the process.
