Fake News: Russian Military Band & 'Leningrad Cowboys' Will NOT Perform At Donald Trump Inaugural Ball

Fact Check

No fake news site has yet reported that the Finnish rock group "Leningrad Cowboys" will perform with the Russian military's "Alexandrov Ensemble," but if it is reported, it would be a hoax. Lead Stories is publishing this take down preemptively, because it would be an obvious hoax to spread.

The Cowboys are a real Finnish group that has gained popularity for performing American rock covers while backed up by the Alexandrov Ensemble, which is made up up real Russian soldiers. If the Russian choir did show up, it would be quite an achievement for Trump considering many of their members died last month when their plane crashed into the Black Sea while en route to an air base in Syria.

While much has been made about what acts have declined to perform for Trump, some huge acts have responded bigly. CNN reports that

Toby Keith, 3 Doors Down and Lee Greenwood will headline "The Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration" at the Lincoln Memorial on January 19.
