Fact Check: Post Attributed To Trump About 'Implication' Said To Have Been Mentioned By Musk During Meeting About Mars Is NOT Authentic No Such Post

Did U.S. President Donald Trump write on Truth Social that Elon Musk left the White House administration after "a very tense meeting about travel to Mars" during which the tech billionaire brought up an "implication" of bringing women to spaceships? No, that's not true: Neither Trump's posts on Truth Social nor an archive of his entries confirm he ever published that. The "implication" line appears to be a reference to a mid-2000s American sitcom.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on X on June 5, 2025. It opened:

AMAZING.

The entry included what seemed to be a picture of another, Trump's post that read:

Elon parted ways with my administration after a very tense meeting about travel to Mars. Elon discussed how he planned to have women on board the Space Ship and the need for sleeping areas 'because of the implication.' He never explained what that meant, and to be honest, I found it to be very strange. We asked him to leave after that meeting. There are laws, Elon, even in Space!

This is what it looked like on X at the time of writing:

The post reviewed in this fact check was published as a public feud between Trump and Musk, a former "special government employee" who left the White House on May 30, 2025 (archived here), continued to escalate (archived here).

The design of the entry attributed to Trump was consistent with the appearance of his profile on Truth Social (archived here). However, a Google search across it for the keywords seen here did not produce any matches:

A searchable archive of Trump's posts on that social media platform (archived here) didn't show an entry in question, either:

"Because of the implication" is a line from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (archived here). As Know Your Meme (archived here) explains, it's used by the character named Dennis Reynolds who wants to buy a boat, thinking that women would be less likely to reject his sexual advances because they wouldn't have anywhere to escape to when out on the ocean.
