Fact Check: Elderly Woman Was NOT Really Shot With A T-Shirt Cannon At Close Range -- The Video Was Made With AI AI Generated

Did a man with a T-shirt cannon fire a prize directly at an elderly woman seated in the stands, knocking her over? No, that's not true: This video is AI-generated. It was created for a satirical Facebook page, Weaber Valley Speedway, which publishes fake updates and event footage as if they are a real small town racetrack.

The fake video resurfaced in a post (archived here) published on X by @DerrickEvans4WV on Oct. 5, 2025. It was captioned:

This old woman won a free t-shirt and they delivered it to her by shooting her with it at point blank range 😳

This is a still from the video:

This video originated from the Facebook Page called Weaber Valley Speedway. The reel (archived here) was posted on Oct. 4, 2025. The post is captioned:

Mildred Tucker is the winner of the free Weaber Valley T shirt tonite which was deliverd to her at point blank range from the T Shirt Canon. Congrads Mildred !

Weaber Valley Speedway is a fictional place. All sorts of satirical small town dirt track drama plays out in a long running joke. The fake track is set in the small town of Celina, Tenn., a place which really does exist. The page has been online since 2020 and their gritty content has continued to keep pace with the available technology. In a July 3, 2025 podcast (archived here) on YouTube titled, "Howard Weaver: The Man Behind The Hilarious & Satirical "Weaber Valley Speedway"" At 31 minutes, 21 seconds, Weaver describes how his process has evolved:

Well, so originally we were we were using like either real pictures or Photoshop. Like our local track here, Crossville, they had a little RC track around the back of the grandstands and it hadn't been used in a couple years so it was grown up. So, I would take pictures of that track and then try to make it look like a big track and say that was Weaver Valley. And then eventually, the AI stuff started getting better. And I was like, I'm spending hours, you know, photoshopping like one picture that doesn't even look all that realistic.

And so, I started doing more stuff with the AI. And it's like just in the last year, the advances of AI is crazy with even with the videos now with the sound and everything we've been posting lately, like those are crazy to me. And you know a couple years ago I couldn't even imagine any of this and now it's just like, "Oh there's another video of Weaver Valley." But so we basically started using AI. It saves a lot of time and whatever idea comes in your brain, you can type it up and eventually get something that's close to what you're looking for and it looks like a real picture and host it up with whatever funny story you want to have go along with it.
