Fact Check: Photo Does NOT Show Hillary Clinton Pulling Jeffrey Epstein's Tie In Front Of Bill Clinton -- It's AI-Generated Phony Photo

Is this a real photo of Hillary Clinton pulling Jeffrey Epstein's tie in front of Bill Clinton? No, that's not true: An online AI image detection tool found it to be 99.8% likely AI-generated. A separate analysis further revealed a SynthID watermark, indicating the image was created or edited using Google AI tools.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by Common Sense on Facebook on Feb. 27, 2026. It read:

'I never met Jeffrey Epstein'
Hillary Clinton under oath 🤥

Clinton testimony

Hillary Clinton told the House Oversight Committee on Feb. 26, 2026, during closed-door testimony that she "never met Jeffrey Epstein." In a post (archived here) on X on Feb. 26, 2026, her opening statement, referring to Epstein and Maxwell, read:

I had no idea about their criminal activities. I do not recall ever encountering Mr. Epstein. I never flew on his plane or visited his island home or offices.

Image analysis

Lead Stories ran the image through Gemini, Google's AI assistant (archived here). It reached these conclusions:

The image you provided appears to be AI-generated.

According to a SynthID analysis, most or all of this image was generated or edited with Google AI.

Separately, the Hive Moderation AI-Generated Content Detection tool concluded the image was 99.8% "likely to be AI-generated":
