Fact Check: FAKE "Breaking News" Video Shows Furries Chasing Patriot Front Member In Downtown D.C. -- AI Media Account Origin Made With AI

Does a real "live" news broadcast show footage of a group of furries chasing a member of Patriot Front in downtown Washington D.C.? No, that's not true: The video originated from an account that declares in both its username and tagline that its content is AI-generated. Aside from the posted disclaimers, the video also contains several glitches typical of AI-generated content.

The fake video appeared in a post (archived here) published by the X account @LePapillonBlu2 on July 7, 2026. It was captioned:

This wins the internet today. 🦊🤣

This is a screenshot from the video:

This video was originally uploaded to several social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, on July 5, 2026, by the account @strangeai (archived here, here and here). A disclaimer is in the tagline. On TikTok (pictured below) the tagline reads:

Sketches, parodies & unreal videos made with AI 🎬

The TikTok video has been labeled as AI by the creator and the post is captioned:

BREAKING: FURRIES CHASE PATRIOT FRONT MEMBER 😂

Washington, DC witnessed one of the internet's strangest protest moments.

A group of furries sprinted through downtown after a Patriot Front member as crowds stopped to record the bizarre scene. The unexpected chase quickly became viral for its sheer absurdity.

You really can't predict the internet anymore. 😭

The AI-generated video has a fake ABC7 logo with time and temperature to make it look like a real news broadcast. The chyron reads:

LIVE
WASHINGTON, DC
BREAKING NEWS
FURRY PROTESTERS CHASE PATRIOT FRONT MEMBER
DOWNTOWN DC

At the bottom is a scrolling news ticker. The scrolling white text in the blue box is garbled with misformed text and nonsense words (pictured below).

Another AI-generated glitch occurs at four seconds in the video (detail pictured below). One of the security guards running behind the furries is duplicated and becomes two people.
