Do videos show a migrant toppling a cross and a burning church in Ceuta, Spain? No, that's not true: Neither video used to support the claim is from the Spanish enclave. The first shows an incident from July 2026 in West Bengal, India, while the second shows a fire at a convent in Cuenca, central Spain, in May 2024.
The claim appeared in a post and videos (archived here) by the @benoitm_mtl account on X on Aug. 20, 2026. Translated from French, it read:

The first video -- showing the man on the roof -- shows an incident from July 5, 2026, in Subhashgram, West Bengal, India, when a mob vandalized an under-construction church (archived here). Video from the scene shows an attacker pulling crosses down from the roof.
