Fact Check: Trump Did NOT Post On Truth Social The 'CLARITY Act' Is Canceled Alongside The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Fake DJT Post

Did President Donald Trump post on Truth Social that the "CLARITY Act" is canceled alongside the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve? No, that's not true: A review of Trump's Truth Social account found no record of the post. No established news outlets had reported that he shared the message at the time of publication or announced plans to cancel either initiative.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by the @Defi_Warhol account on X on Nov. 5, 2026. It read:

The text in the post read:

YOU WANTED IT, YOU GOT IT!

The CLARITY Act is CANCELLED! The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve is CANCELLED! No more deals, no more meme coins. The crypto people wanted this, and now they have it. SAD!

The CLARITY Act (archived here) is a proposed federal law that would set rules for cryptocurrency markets. It would also spell out which agency is in charge of what: the Securities and Exchange Commission or the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The House passed it in July 2025, but the Senate failed to advance it in a 49-50 procedural vote on Sept. 15, 2026, and it remained stalled as of publication.

The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (archived here) is a U.S. government stockpile of bitcoin, created by a White House executive order of March 6, 2025. It was first filled with bitcoin the government seized in criminal and civil asset forfeiture cases.

Lead Stories searched Trump's Truth Social account (archived here) and Trump's Truth (archived here), a website that archives his Truth Social posts. At the time of publication, neither search returned any matches for "CLARITY Act is CANCELLED," a phrase found in the fake post.
