Does a viral image show a real Truth Social post in which President Donald Trump responded to Democratic wins in the 2026 midterms? No, that's not true: The supposed screenshot of his post on Truth Social was fabricated. Neither Trump's account on that platform nor an archive of his posts contained an entry saying "you are an enemy of the greatest president to ever live."
The claim appeared in a post (archived here and here) on X where it was published by @camolNFT on Nov. 4, 2026. It read::
Things are getting crazy on Truth Social.
The text in the attached image that resembled a screenshot of a Trump post on Truth Social read:
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
THIS IS YOUR PRESIDENT SPEAKING. You read that right. YOUR PRESIDENT.
But since the woke mind doesn't want that, there's gonna be some changes around here. You failed me. There's consequences since you are an enemy of the greatest president to ever live.
American Crypto? Cancelled.

Working to get gas prices lower? Cancelled.Hope you like cancel culture. It seems like the liberal IDIOTS do. Why would you disrespect the greatest man to ever live. My son Barron came to my room upset. He is scared because he is a white man. Every white man should be scared. God bless some of you. PRESIDENT DONALD J FREEDOM TRUMP
This is what that image looked like on X at the time of publication:

The post reviewed in this fact check went live the day after the 2026 U.S. midterm elections that gave Democrats control of Congress (archived here). The timing implied that the shared "screenshot" showed the Republican president's supposed response to that outcome. However, it was not a real Trump post.
The self-description (archived here) of the account that published the post hinted that the page posts jokes:
...being hilarious online is the best skill you can have.
On Nov. 5, 2026, Lead Stories manually reviewed recent posts (archived here) published by the Trump account on Truth Social, but did not find the post in question.

A Google search across the Trump account on Truth Social for the keywords seen here (archived here) did not show any matching entries:

A search (archived here) across Trump's Truth, a website that archives his Truth Social posts, did not show the post in question, either.
Had the president of the U.S. publicly said something remotely similar to what social media attributed to him, especially in the context of major policy shifts, that would likely be picked up by news outlets. However, a search across Google News for the keywords seen here (archived here) did not show reports from established news outlets confirming the post.
