Paris Terror Attacks Updates

  • by: Maarten Schenk

Eight terrorists attacked various places in Paris yesterday, all are now dead. The deadliest attacks happened near the Stade de France and in the Bataclan concert hall. Over 120 people were reportedly killed, with hundreds more wounded. See our earlier coverage here. Below are the latest updates.

  • The father and a brother of one of the terrorists involved in the Paris attacks have been taken into custody by investigators, BFMTV reported. Two men were arrested after police raided a home about 80 miles (130 km) east of Paris Saturday, according to AFP.

NATO Secretary General condemns terrorist attacks in Paris

I am deeply shocked by the horrific terrorist attacks across Paris tonight. My thoughts are with the families of the victims, with all those affected, and with the people of France. We stand strong and united in the fight against terrorism. Terrorism will never defeat democracy.

  • It is unknown at this time if the attack is considered an attack on a NATO member under article V of the NATO treaty (which would make NATO members consider it an attack on all of them)
  • In a (possibly unrelated) incident, London Gatwick airport was evacuated this morning after a person carrying a grenade was discovered.
  • Footage has emerged from the beginning of the attack on the Bataclan concert hall:
