Three police officers were shot in Chicago Monday night, officials said.
They were taken to area hospitals and suffered not life-threatening injuries, according to department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.
The officers were reportedly investigating narcotics activity in the area when they encountered two men acting suspiciously. When the suspects ran, the officers gave chase, according to Chicago PD News Affairs.
One suspect allegedly fired on the officers, wounding three. One officer returned fire, fatally injuring the suspect, Chicago PD News Affairs said.
