Donald Trump is trying to recapture centerstage, held by Democrats in the past several days with Hillary Clinton successes, by taking his campaign show on the road again with four big rallies between Friday night and Monday. Trump spoke in Richmond Friday. He is now in Tampa. Other rallies are set for Pittsburgh and New Hampshire.

Trump's spirited rallies proved to be entertainment during the now-ended primary season, but with the nomination locked up these rallies are apparently intended to help Trump regain control of the nation's political conversation, which has focused in the past week over the division in the GOP caused by his controversial comments about a federal judgeand by Hillary Clinton's historic clinching of her party's nomination.

Trump did get moderate praise for controlling his rhetoric Tuesday by reading a speech from a TelePrompter, but there is no indication the billionaire will not return to this practice at large rallies of speaking off the cuff. It is those spontaneous remarks that seem to get him sideways with Republican leaders.

Trump has said he would deliver a formal speech, likely Monday, the attacks Bill and Hillary Clinton's past controversies.
