Fake News: 101-Year-Old Woman Did NOT Give Birth To Her 17th Baby in Italy

Bad doggie! No 101-year-old woman gave birth to her 17th baby in Italy, despite what a site on domain name puppieswoof.com is claiming in a story that went viral sometime in March 2018 titled "101-Year-Old Woman Gives Birth To Her 17th Baby in Italy" (archived here) which opened:

This story takes place in Italy, Napoli. A centennial 101-year-old woman has made a controversial case because of ovary transplants and gave birth to a nine-pound baby, named Francesco.

In Turkey and in a private clinic with unknown name, the illegal surgical operation was done because European laws prevent ovary transplants.

The mother, Anatolia Vertadella, was thankful to all the team of doctors who did the procedure. Also, she was so grateful to have given birth to her 17th child. She said to local reporters that, that was is a true pond to the power of God.

But the story was just a badly rewritten copy from a World News Daily Report article:

That article opened:

ITALY | Anatolia Vertadella, a 101-year-old Italian woman, has given birth to a 9-pound baby after a controversial ovary transplant widely criticized by medical professionals because of her advanced age, reports the Rivista Napoli.

The illegal and controversial surgical operation was done in a private clinic in Turkey, where European laws on ovary transplants do not apply, admits the centennial mother who does not wish to disclose the name of the clinic where the operation was undertaken.

"I am very grateful to all the team of doctors who decided to go on with the operation," she admitted in tears.

That story was already debunked by Snopes in 2016:

FALSE: 101-Year-Old Mom Gives Birth in Italy

A 101-year-old Italian woman gave birth after an ovarian transplant. See Example( s ) 101 year old woman gives birth to child after ovarian transplant. I can't imagine how a body can spit out 16 kids, let alone the 17th child at the age of 101. Impressive.
