Fact Check: FAKE Video Purports To Show Tim Walz Dancing With Cowboy Hat And Dollar Bills In His Pants -- It's Another Person Doctored Video

Does a video show Tim Walz, Kamala Harris' pick as her vice presidential running mate, dancing in a cowboy hat and with dollar bills stuck in his pants? No, that's not true: The video has been altered to add Walz's face onto the person dancing. The original video is of musician Alejandro Casas, who is known as El Divo 956, in a clip posted to Casas' Facebook page in June 2024.

The claim appeared in a video (archived here) on Facebook on August 20, 2024. It said:

I knew there was something wrong with this guy

This is what the post looked like on Facebook at the time of writing:

Superimposed across the video clip is text saying, "Recently found Video of Tampon Tim😬."

The original video shows musician Alejandro Casas, who goes by the name El Divo 956, dancing in a clip he posted to his Facebook page in June 2024. He posted several videos to his Facebook page (archived here) that shows him in the same outfit as the person in the video purporting to be Tim Walz. Here is one from his page:

The addition of Walz's face has been digitally added. Videos posted by Casas clearly show his face is not the same as the one in the footage posted on Facebook in August 2024. Here is a screenshot of Casas' face in a video posted on his Facebook page:
