Fact Check: Pink Did NOT 'Wipe' Her X Account In September 2024 After 'Diddy' Combs Indictment -- She Deleted In February 2024 Toxic Trolls

Did the pop singer Pink delete all tweets on her X account in September 2024 after the Sean "Diddy" Combs sex trafficking and racketeering indictment and arrest? No, that's not true: Pink deleted all her X posts in February 2024 due to toxicity she said she was receiving on the social media site. An article from February 2024 reported her final posts were her calling X "a party with a bunch of salty old people."

The claim appeared in a post on X (archived here) on September 22, 2024. The caption read:

Pink and Usher have wiped their X accounts clean. 42M followers between them.

Diddy is in jail. And they are terrified.

Users on social media only saw this title, description and thumbnail:

This post claims that both Pink and R&B singer Usher scrubbing their X accounts is correlated with the federal indictment against Combs and his September 16, 2024, arrest.

This article will only focus on the Pink claim. Claims regarding Usher and his X account will be addressed in a separate Lead Stories article.

At the time of writing, Pink's X username, @Pink, only had two posts on the account. They are reposts from 2016 and 2017. The singer punctuates the spelling of her name so that it's P!nk.

According to a media outlet's report from February 2024, Pink deleted her X account then. 7NEWS, an Australian outlet, reported (archived here) that just days after touching down in Australia for her Summer Carnival tour, she announced that she would be quitting the social media platform. Her last two posts, according to 7NEWS, were posted on February 6, 2024. They read:

Have you ever been at a party with a bunch of salty old people that never realized their dreams?Where the liquor ran dry ages ago, there's no music-no one's dancing-you would've had more fun at home with your blind cat? That's twitter these days-or whatever it's called now. Byeeeeeeeeeee

and

This account will self destruct in two minutes. Do it!!!!!!

Those posts were not visible on X at the time of this writing.

A YouTube video (archived here) from February 2024 shows Pink on stage talking about "quitting Twitter/X" and mental health. In the video she says, "I know this isn't like a huge deal but it's kinda a big deal to me -- I quit Twitter, so excited ..."

We have contacted Pink's management and will update this article if a relevant response is received.
