Does this video show a real, very angry mom removing a LGBT flag from a classroom? No, that's not true: This video was made by the comedian and content creator Jibrizy. The original full-length video posted on Facebook states that this is a skit in a disclaimer message at the end. The actors, including the woman who played the role of the angry mother, are gathered together in front of the camera as Jibrizy invites the social media audience to share their opinion about the situation in the comments.
The video was originally posted on Facebook watch on September 16, 2023 (archived here), by the page Jibrizy. The page intro states, "I'm a Director that makes feel good family content," indicating that the content posted on the page is theatrical. The post was captioned:
Mother tears down Pride Flag
A REAL mom removing LGBT flags from classroom. Well done, lady
In the full, original version of this skit, a teacher is lecturing a class when an irate mother comes into the classroom and pulls a rainbow flag down off the wall, revealing a map of the United States underneath it. The mother rolls up the flag and throws it in the trash can while the teacher objects. The argument escalates into shouting between the mother and teacher characters. The mother says that she is not paying her tax money to support this and that it is uncalled for.
The confrontation in the original video is protracted for several minutes and the skit concludes with the teacher dismissing the class at the 6:25 mark. The next scene (pictured below) shows four of the actors as Jibrizy addresses the audience. He explains:
Hey, guys, this was all a skit. What was your opinion in the situation where the mother came down and took down the flag saying that her tax dollars isn't here to support this particular thing in the school? Comment down below. We can't wait to read your comments.
