Fact Check: James Carville Did NOT Say He Believes Kamala Harris Will Lose 2024 Presidential Election Did Not Say

Did Democratic political consultant James Carville say that he believes Vice President Kamala Harris will lose the 2024 U.S. presidential election? No, that's not true: Carville posted on X that he would donate $100 to the Donald Trump campaign if a credible person came forward and proved they heard him make the statements attributed to him in a social media post. Carville also has spoken on TV and written about how he believes Harris will win the presidency. A search on Google News did not return any news reports mentioning Carville saying he thinks Harris will lose.

The claim appeared in a post on X on October 29, 2024 (archived here). The caption read:

Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville is telling campaign advisors and high-level donors behind the scenes that Kamala Harris is headed for a historic blowout, telling them she will lose every swing state and probably New Hampshire and Virginia too.

Carville responded to the claim on X on October 29, 2024, with his own statement (archived here):

If this ass wipe can produce one credible person who will come forward and say they heard me say anything like this I will give $100 to the Trump campaign
