Does a real video show a firefighter rescuing a mother dog and pups from a burning building by cutting the bars from a window with a grinder? No, that's not true: This video is AI-generated. Lead Stories identified at least four more nearly identical AI-generated videos spawned by the same prompt. The videos have the same plotline with small variations, and glitches typical of AI-generated content. In each, the firefighter says the same thing, "Got it, all right come on out. It's ok, you're safe now. Good girl. I got you."
The video was posted (archived here) by @PopularPup5247 on X on Feb. 16, 2026. It was captioned:

In this video the firefighter is using a grinder to cut the bars of a metal security grate. From the outset, the architecture pictured is nonsensical. It seems to be a window, but there is no glass. The puppies could fit between the bars but instead they are sprayed with sparks from the grinder. In the end, the gate seems to open on a hinge, and then breaks apart in places which had not been touched with the grinder.
A watermark in the upper left corner seems to obscure another watermark. Lead Stories tried to find the original source of this video. While the source of the video was not found, searching YouTube for the caption, "Rescuing a mother dog and her puppies from a burning home" surfaced additional videos. Reviewing the accounts that had posted those turned up a few more. Two of the YouTube accounts 1M Follow and 10M Follow (archived here and here) seem to be connected and post videos with similar watermarks. The videos posted on YouTube have the disclaimer:
