Fact Check: NO Evidence Diddy Died In Hospital Bed As Of October 11, 2024 No News

Had rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs died in a hospital bed as of October 11, 2024? No, that's not true: As of October 17, 2024, Combs was still listed at the detention center where he was sent upon his arrest. As of the time of writing, there have been no news reports about his death, which would have been major news. Combs also posted on his Instagram page four days after the allegation about his death appeared online.

The claim appeared in a video on Facebook Reels (archived here) on October 11, 2024. The video's caption read in part:

Goodbye Rapper Diddy on his hospital bed, he died in the arms of his loved ones, sad details

This is what the post looked like on Facebook at the time of writing:

The audio for the video is an automated voice reading the on-screen text. The on-screen text resembles the post's caption.

The post does not name the hospital where Combs supposedly was sent, nor does it provide any evidence that could confirm this claim.

As of the date of this fact check, Combs is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. Lead Stories checked the detention center's inmate search tool, and found that Combs is still incarcerated there. Evidence of this is below:

Combs posted on social media after the claim about his death appeared on Facebook. On October 15, 2024, he wished his daughter a happy birthday on Instagram.
