Does a video show Kamala Harris and Tim Walz posing in front of a real "Revolutionary Communists of America" poster? No, that's not true: The poster in the video has been digitally altered as the original footage from a campaign event in Phoenix, Arizona shows. Harris and Walz were standing in front of a sign that read, "Kamala and the Coach," as multiple videos and photos from the August 2024 event show.
The claim appeared in a post and video (archived here) on X, formerly known as Twitter, on September 30, 2024. It said:
Whatever you do, do not share this again. Kamala hates the fact that she's been branded as a communist. Even though it's 100% true.

The poster that reads "REVOLUTIONARY COMMUNISTS OF AMERICA" has been digitally added to the footage. While Lead Stories could not determine the exact video used in the post on X, multiple videos from the event show that the sign actually read, "KAMALA AND THE COACH."
A C-SPAN video posted on YouTube (archived here) from the event at a Phoenix campaign office on August 10, 2024, shows the poster behind Harris and Walz as he takes a selfie with her, as this screenshot shows:

A second digitally altered image in the video is the sign on the table that reads, "DEMOCRATS PROTECT ABORTION," which was changed to an image of Communist leaders.
