Fact Check: Walz Did NOT Say 'We Can't Have Four More Years Of This' About Biden-Harris Administration -- Was Talking About Trump Talking Trump

Did Tim Walz say "We can't have four more years of this" about the Biden-Harris administration? No, that's not true: The full video of his remarks at a campaign rally shows that he was speaking about Donald Trump receiving another four-year term as president. The six-second video posted on social media does not include his mentions of Trump. The longer video shows that he was talking about Trump's former tax policies and how, in Walz's view, they hurt American workers.

The claim appeared in a post and a video (archived here) on X, formerly known as Twitter, on October 14, 2024. The caption for the video clip read:

In a stunning move, Tim Walz comes out against the Biden/Harris administration

'We can't have four more years of this!'

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The eight-second video on X showed Minnesota Gov. Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate in the 2024 presidential election, speaking at a podium with a sign that said "Green Bay, WI." Walz said in the clip posted on X:

Look, you all know it. We can't have four more years of this! We won't have four more years of it! We won't!

The clip was taken from a longer video, an archived livestream, posted on Walz's verified account on YouTube from his campaign rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on October 14, 2024. Local news station Fox 11 (archived here) also covered his appearance.

Beginning at the 26:32 mark in the video on YouTube, Walz spoke about Trump and his tax policies and said, "We can't have four more years of this" in reference to Trump's administration. Walz said:

JD Vance called it a failed model. So, just to be clear, the guy who showed up and wanted to act nice a few weeks ago is not the guy's policies that care for workers. They undermine them every step of the way and that populist schtick is nothing more than an act. Because they've never worked union jobs, they've never been union members, they've never cared about workers.

And so, Trump promised he would stop offshoring. His tax bill created incentives for companies to do this that. He cut taxes for billionaires and corporations during his presidency, and 200,000 American jobs went overseas. So, their revisionist history is a bunch of crap. It did not happen. They undermined us.

Look, you all know it. We can't have four more years of this! We won't have four more years of it! We won't!
