Fact Check: FAKE Barron Trump Tweet Calls For National Cancer Institute DOGE Audit -- Originated On Now Suspended Account Fake Account

Did Barron Trump post a tweet on X about DOGE auditing the National Cancer Institute because they hadn't found a cure yet after 88+ years of research? No, that's not true: A viral screenshot of such a post appears to have originated on a now deleted X account that did not belong to Barron Trump. According to media reports, Barron Trump does not have a presence on X.

An example of the viral screenshot appeared in a post on X (archived here) published on March 20, 2025. The text in the screenshot read:

Wait until DOGE audits the National Cancer Institute. 88+ years of research, and still no cure! This one will be eye opening.

Lead Stories searched for the phrase "Wait until DOGE audits the National Cancer Institute" on X and did not find the original message anymore. However the date in the screenshot was February 24, 2025 and we located a post on that day (archived here) that linked to a post by a now deleted account: https://x.com/TrumpBarronNews/status/1894016084321206414

According to reporting by The Palm Beach Post dated November 11, 2024, (archived here), Barron Trump does not have a social media presence except possibly for a @barrontrump account on X where nothing has been posted:

From about 2012 to 2015, Melania Trump tagged the X account @barrontrump. However, that account on X follows only one account (hers) and has more than 24,800 followers as of Nov. 11, 2024. But there is no profile photo, no cover photo, no tweets and no bio -- only the social handle and the date "@barrontrump" joined the social media platform (August 2012, when he was 6 years old).
