STORY UPDATED: check for updates below.

Did Damon Imani appear on the February 24, 2025 episode of "The View" to verbally spar with co-host Sunny Hostin over the term "Woke", as a social media post seems to show? No, that's not true: Imani has never appeared on ABC's morning show. He is a producer, artist and commentator who creates and publishes digitally altered videos placing himself in various broadcasts in which he did not actually appear. They are labeled as satire on his own social media channels but sometimes his videos get shared or stolen without that context.
A recent example is a March 20, 2025 post and video on X (archived here) where it was published without a satire label on the @MustangMan_TX account under the caption: "Damon shuts down the liars and the hypocrites on The View and leaves them speechless!" The video opened with a chyron that read:
He ENDED them as they called Christians UNGODLY for not being WOKE.
This is what the post on X looked like at the time this was written:

Imani's original post of the doctored video is clearly marked "Satire" in parentheses at the end of the title:

According to the cast & crew listing for "The View" on The Internet Movie Database (archived here) Damon Imani has never appeared on "The View," as of this writing.
The bio on his YouTube channel (archived here) also says he clearly identifies his satirical content:
