Fact Check: Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler Does NOT Have A Hidden Net Worth Of $100 Million According To DOGE -- Satire Site Satire Post

Did DOGE discover Democratic Congressman Jerry Nadler has a hidden net worth of $100 million? No, that's not true: The post spreading that Nadler rumor and the false claim about his vast wealth came from a Facebook page with a satire disclaimer and a warning that all the contents of the page are fabricated. The owner of the page is known for tricking conservatives into liking and sharing made-up content. The site includes a warning that reads: "nothing on this page is real." Nadler's wealth estimate is not based on fact.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on the Facebook page "America - Love It Or Leave It" on August 16, 2025 with the caption, "Jerry Nadler is an evil little troll who rides just beneath the waves." It opened:

Jerry Nadler loves to tell successful people that they have "too much."
DOGE's final Congressional audit, however, shows that Mr. Nadler has a hidden net worth of over $100 million.
Nadler refused to comply with the audit and denies the results.
"Jerry Nadler is the perfect example of what's wrong with our government."

This is what the post looked like on Facebook at the time of writing:

This meme posted on America - Love It Or Leave It is just one of a series of similar posts by the ALLOD network, which began earlier in 2025 with the claim that "DOGE forwarded the names of 163 members of Congress to the IRS for 'Immediate Audit' and that 156 of them were Democrats. Lead Stories checked that claim in this article: "Fact Check: Claim DOGE Forwarded Names Of 163 Members Of Congress To IRS Originated On Satire Page."

Despite knowing the origins of the claim, Lead Stories looked at available information about the finances of Nadler. The New York Democrat files his Congressional financial disclosures (archived here) by hand and this 2024 statement, filed in May 2025, shows $23,413 in earned income from his New York State employee pension. He listed assets sold as "sell bungalow" for an amount between $100,001 and $250,000 on page 3 as this screenshot shows:

Nadler's net worth in 2018 was estimated at $121,003 by Open Secrets (archived here).

Lead Stories searched Google News' index of thousands of news websites and found no reports (archived here) of DOGE uncovering a hidden $100 million Rep. Nadler was hiding. Similarly, the Yahoo! News index of partner news sites and news services showed zero fact-based reports of Nadler with the secret $100 million exposed (archived here).

According to the page transparency tab of the ALLOD page, it was run by "Busta Troll," which is the nickname of Christopher Blair.

Christopher Blair is a self-professed liberal from Maine who for years has run networks of websites set up to troll conservatives with made-up news items in order to get them to share his posts. A 2018 BBC profile called Blair "the Godfather of fake news," describing him as "one of the world's most prolific writers of disinformation."

His websites usually have multiple satire disclaimers and the stories very often contain obvious hints they are not real, like category names indicating they are fiction, links to "sources" that instead go to funny or offensive images, or an "S for Satire" logo added to the images used as illustration. Another telltale sign is the name "Art Tubolls" (anagram for "Busta Troll") for characters in the stories. Blair also frequently pays homage to two of his friends who passed away by using their names ("Joe Barron" and "Sandy Batt") in stories.

Blair's stories have been widely copied by spammy, foreign website networks trying to make a buck by spamming American conservatives with clickbait headlines.

Here you can find some of the many, many stories from Blair's websites debunked by Lead Stories over the years.
