Fact Check: Fake Transcript Of Trump-Zelenskyy Meeting Mentions 'Real Estate Deal' And 'Burning Cities' Not Transcript

Does a viral image correctly show a transcript of the White House meeting between President Trump, Vice-President Vance and President Zelenskyy that took place on February 28, 2025? No, that's not true: The fake transcript mentions several phrases that were never said in the real meeting according to actual transcripts. Zelenskyy never said "Our cities are burning", "You repeated Putin's lies" or "This isn't a real estate deal" during the encounter.

The image appeared in a Bluesky post (archived here) published on February 28, 2025. It was paired with a caption that said:

Friend who served in the Army says he's getting messages from friends still serving saying, "I'm ashamed to be an American." Utterly disgusting.

This is what the image looked like:

A transcript of the text in the image read:

TRUMP: You have to be thankful! We've given you a lot.
ZELENSKYY: Thankful? My people are dying. Our cities are burning. And you're here demanding gratitude while threatening to cut us off?
TRUMP: You don't have the cards right now.
ZELENSKYY: Because you held them. You delayed aid. You repeated Putin's lies. You gave Russia an opening.
VANCE: Ukraine has to be realistic.
ZELENSKYY: Realistic? Russia is stealing our land, executing civilians, and kidnapping our children. What part of that should I be realistic about?
TRUMP: It's gonna be very hard to do business like this, Volodymyr.
ZELENSKYY: Business? This isn't a real estate deal. You can walk away. We can't.
TRUMP: If I was president, this never would have happened!
ZELENSKYY: Because you would've just handed Ukraine over.

However video of the full encounter available through CSPAN (archived here) does not show a segment where these phrases are being spoken:

Lead Stories used a transcription tool from Google to generate a transcript of the encounter, it does not contain the phrases "lies", "burning", "real estate", "repeated" or "you delayed aid".
