Fact Check: Warren Buffett Did NOT Publish 'Sell American. I Am.' Opinion Article -- Joke Screenshot Joke Image

Did investor Warren Buffett publish an opinion article titled "Sell American. I Am" on April 11, 2025? No, that's not true: A viral image purporting to be a screenshot of such an article was created as a joke according to the account that posted it. There is no record of such an article in Google News. Buffett did write an article titled "Buy American. I am" but that happened in 2008.

The image appeared in a post on X (archived here) published on April 11, 2025 with a comment that read:

It's over.

This is the image in question:

However the account that posted the image later added (archived here) it was a joke:

Buffett did once write an article for the New York Times titled "Buy American. I Am" (archived here) but that was published in 2008.

A search on Google News for articles titled "Sell American. I Am" did not return any results (archived here).
