Fact Check: Sam Smith and Pamela Anderson Did NOT Trade Insults in May 2025 -- Started as Satire Satire Origin

Did Sam Smith and Pamela Anderson trade insults in May 2025, after Anderson's appearance at that year's Met Gala in New York City? No, that's not true: An account of a "bitter feud" between them was no more than a fabrication. The original source, Wakefield News, describes its output as satirical in nature.

The exchange of insults was presented as real in a May 13, 2025, post on X (archived here). The text embedded in a screenshot read:

Sam Smith has BLASTED Pamela Anderson saying 'it looks like her ma cut her fringe using a bowl', sparking a BITTER feud.
Sam said: 'What in the Lord Farquhar is going on here? Whoever cut that hair should be jailed immediately'.
Pamela hit back saying 'What's the difference between my left breast and Sam Smith? Ones a massive tit and the other is my left breast'.

This is what it looked like at the time of writing:

In reality, neither Smith nor Anderson had made any of those remarks, and the entire story originated in a May 9 post on Facebook by Wakefield News:

That page -- named after a city in Yorkshire, England -- is categorized as "Satire/Parody", and describes its output as follows:

A news page for people who like a laugh. Nothing on this page is serious. Parody account.
