Fact Check: AI Video Has Trump Cancel Pride Month, Replace It With 'Confidence Month' -- Potty Language NOT Real AI Video

Did President Donald Trump announce in a video that "Pride Month is canceled" and that it would be replaced with something called "Confidence Month" in June? No, that's not true: A viral video that also has Trump saying things like "poop is poop" and "pride is a sin" had an audio track generated using AI. The video part was from an authentic Easter message Trump delivered in which he did not mention the words "butt" or "weiner" like he did in the fake video.

An example of the viral video appeared in a post on X (archived here) where it was published on May 19, 2025 with a caption that read:

President Trump CANCELS Pride Month

This is the video in question:

Transcribed using Google's Pinpoint Trump appeared to say following words:

My fellow Americans, it is with great pleasure that I am announcing that Pride Month is canceled.

Pride is a sin and we will no longer participate in deliberate moral inversions. Instead, June will be known as Confidence Month, or maybe just June. Who knows, in either case, it'll be a time for us to celebrate legitimate achievements worthy of reflection.

I hate to break it to some people, but putting a weiner in a butt shouldn't be on anyone's highlight reel, very unhygienic. Love is love. That's what they say. However, poop is poop, folks. Poop is poop.

Two AI detectors -- DeepFake-o-Meter and and Hiya in the InVid verification plugin showed that the audio was likely not authentic:

The video portion of the clip appears to have been taken from Trump's April 19, 2025 easter message (archived here).

According to the transcript automatically generated by YouTube the President did not use the words "butt" or "weiner" during the address.

The video was originally posted on X by an account named @MaverickDarby (archived here), whose watermark can be seen about halfway through the video.

The bio of that account (archived here) says it creates satire:

Mostly satire. I make videos, but the podcast is 🎷
