Fact Check: Disney and Playboy Did NOT Collaborate On a $50 Special Magazine -- Mouse Trap News is a Parody Site Satire Origin

Did Disney and Playboy announce in June 2025 that they would be collaborating to produce a special $50 edition of the magazine? No, that's not true: The claim originated on Mouse Trap News, which describes its output as "satire and parody". We found no evidence to suggest that the rumor was even inadvertently true.

The claim appeared in a June 15, 2025, post on Facebook (archived here). The embedded video bore the title "Disney and Playboy Partner For Special Magazine!"

A voiceover contains the following account:

Disney and Playboy partner up for a special magazine. This limited edition print will feature your favorite Disney characters completely naked, wearing lingerie and other scandalous outfits.

The video can be watched below:

In reality, the story was entirely false.

It originated on Mouse Trap News, who posted it to their TikTok and Instagram profiles, as well as their website, on June 14.

Mouse Trap News publishes fake Disney-related content, and carries the folliwing disclaimer on their website:

Mouse Trap News is the world's best satire and parody site...We write fake stories about Disney Parks stuff. From Disney Park announcements to Disney Hotel and resort news to made-up Disney partnerships, you can be assured that anything you read here is not true, real, or accurate, but it is fun.

A Google News search for "Disney" and "Playboy" and "magazine" yielded no relevant results on June 18, confirming that the rumor was not even inadvertently accurate.
