Fact Check: President Trump Did NOT Post On Truth Social That He is 'Open to reconciling with Elon' As Of June 11, 2025 Unreal 'Truth'

Did Donald Trump post on his Truth Social account that he is "...open to reconciling with Elon ..."? No, that's not true: The viral image of the supposed Trump post on the social media platform he owns is fabricated. There is no trace of such a post on Trump's Truth Social account and none was indexed by Google. After their very public falling out in early June 2025 dominated global headlines, Trump announcing a rapprochement with billionaire industrialist Elon Musk would have been a major story, but there has been no evidence-based reporting on such a post.

The claim originated in a June 11, 2025 X.com post (archived here) on the @stillgray account under the caption "BREAKING: " It opened:

Trump says he's open to reconciling his relationship with Elon Musk.

Here's what the X.com post looked like when this fact check was written:

Lead Stories reviewed Donald Trump's account on Truth Social (archived here) and did not see a post like this published in the week after the President and the billionaire feuded over Trump-imposed tariffs and over the proposed federal budget's impacts on the national debt.

A Google search for the phrase "reconciling with Elon" limited to links containing truthsocial.com/@realdonaldtrump (using the "site:" search operator) returned no results (archived here), indicating Google didn't recently index such a post.

Trump's Truth, a website that archives Trump's Truth Social posts, did not include any posts (archived here) with the phrase "reconciling with Elon".
