
Was U.S. President Donald Trump's account on X blocked again in the aftermath of the public feud with the platform's owner Elon Musk on June 5, 2025? No, that's not true: The account was still active, as of this writing. The screenshot that resurfaced on social media showed what Trump's account looked like in 2021 - after he had been suspended on the previous version of the platform, Twitter.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) published on X on June 5, 2025. It opened:

However, contrary to the image above, Trump's account on X (archived here) was functioning, despite a feud with Elon Musk (archived here) that started to unfold earlier on the day of the claim's publication:

The fact that, as of this writing, the number of Trump's followers on X was greater than in the image purporting to show the freshly suspended account suggested that it could have been an old screenshot.
A Google reverse image search confirmed that while authentic, the screenshot was more than four years old (archived here), as of June 5, 2025.
X, then still Twitter, banned (archived here) Trump shortly after the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill in January 2021.
In November 2022, shortly after acquiring the platform, Musk unblocked (archived here) Trump's account, following his announcement to run for president again.
