Fact Check: Monkee Micky Dolenz Was NOT Rushed To Hospital After Tragic Accident -- Click Bait We Saw Him

Was Monkee Micky Dolenz rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after a tragic accident following a visit to Texas flood victims? No, that's not true: Dolenz posted a video on his Facebook page asking fans to ignore and not share posts making the claim. Lead Stories co-founder Alan Duke -- the writer of this fact check -- personally talked to the music idol at a California restaurant after the purported accident. He was fine.

The claim originated in an article (archived here) published by musicglobal.buzz on July 8, 2025, headlined:

BREAKING: 27 Minutes Ago in Los Angeles, California, USA -- Donna Quinter, in Tears, Reveals That 80-Year-Old Micky Dolenz Was Rushed to the Hospital After a Tragic Accident Following His Visit to Texas Flood Victims

Dolenz warned fans in a poolside video posted (archived here) on his official Facebook page that it was fake and he asked that they not share it.

Yes, it's really me - and I'm just fine! 😎
Lately there's been a strange wave of fake, AI-generated stories about me floating around online. So if you see one, report it to Meta and help spread the word that I'm alive, well, and still Monkeeing around.
I've been spending my summer getting some sunshine by the pool, tinkering in the garage, hitting the gym (sun's out, guns out!), and getting ready to kick off my Songs & Stories tour again next month.
So don't believe the clickbait. Believe the guy with the toolbox, the tour dates & the dumbbells.

The article claiming that Dolenz, 80, was seriously injured and hospitalized was posted on a Facebook page administered from Vietnam at 9:19 a.m. on July 8, 2025.

Coincidentally, this writer personally spoke -- and fist-bumped -- with an uninjured Dolenz at a restaurant hours after the claim was posted. This is a selfie taken by this writer with the metadata showing the location as Calabasas, California, and the time as 7:32 p.m. on July 8, 2025.
