Fact Check: NO EVIDENCE Angel Reese Said 'Y'all make $1,400 a week, I make $1,400 in 7 days' No Reports

Did basketball player Angel Reese publicly say "Y'all make $1,400 a week, I make $1,400 in 7 days"? No, that's not true: A search of major news websites using two different search engines did not bring up any news reports confirming she ever said this. A search of the public posts on her X account did not bring up the quote either.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on Facebook, where it was published on July 29, 2025. It opened:

Angel Reese just flexed on everyone hating on her. 🗣️ "Y'all make $1,400 a week... I make $1,400 in 7 days." 😤🔥 SHE'S LIKE THAT.

This is what the post looked like on Facebook at the time of writing:

However, searches for the athlete's name and fragments of the quote across news articles on Google (archived here) and Yahoo (archived here) didn't show any credible reports confirming that Reese publicly said that. Furthermore, one of those searches returned several fact checks that had previously reviewed the same claim.

A search across Reese's account on X (archived here) didn't show any matches, either:
