Did a statement by "Megan Kerrigan Byron" on Facebook declaring she "decided to leave" her husband because she "cannot tolerate sharing a bed with a man who has betrayed" her appear on the original account of the Astronomer CEO's wife on Facebook? No, that's not true: The page that published it was only created after the camera caught Andy Byron hugging Astronomer Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot on video during a Coldplay concert. Earlier news reports linked to a now-deleted Megan Kerrigan Byron account, which was not a page labeled as "digital creator."
The claim originated from a post (archived here) published on Facebook on July 19, 2025. It opened:
Hello everyone,
I'm Megan kerrigan ByronThis is the most difficult moment of my life.I never imagined I would be thrust into the public spotlight in this way.I never imagined that my husband would betray me.I always believed that my marriage with Andy Byronwas built on trust, respect and pure love.Everytime He told me there was something important at work and He couldn't make it home on time.I believed him but it turns out that during those times He was with another woman.I naively thought he was working hard for our family, for our children but the kiss caught on camera at the concert shattered everything seeing Andy and Kristen Cabot cuddle together then hurriedly separating when they noticed the camera brought me a level of humiliation and pain, I cannot even describe, I cannot accept and his actions. He was the husband I was proud, the father--the children respected most his betrayal not only a trampling of my personal dignity, its a betrayal of our entire family.
I have decided to leave him. I cannot tolerate sharing a bed with a man who has betrayed me. It's utterly disgusting at the same time I don't want my children to have face a father every day who doesn't truly value them. I will take my children and leave this repulsive man behind.'

The page (archived here) was also labeled as "digital creator":

Pages are different from personal profiles. According to the Facebook Help Center (archived here), pages offer more tools and tend to be "for businesses, brands, organizations and public figures to share updates and connect with people", although anyone can create them.
Pages are also different from the professional mode (archived here) on Facebook -- that turns a personal account into a digital creator profile, enabling some monetization while not automatically deleting or changing the previously published content.
The real Megan Kerrigan's account previously identified (archived here) by the media was already deleted, as of July 17, 2025. A screenshot of it from a Newsweek article (archived here) partially displayed an unrelated post written by Kerrigan on June 1, 2025 -- when the page spreading the supposed statement didn't even exist.
A camera scouting crowds so Coldplay frontman Chris Martin could personally greet the fans captured (archived here) Astronomer CEO Andy Byron snuggling the company's Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot. At the July 16, 2025 concert, it was displayed on the stadium's Jumbotron-type screens, as seen in this video (archived here). Both Byron and Cabot were initially unidentified. As he hid and she turned her face away from the camera, the singer commented, "Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy".
On July 19, 2025, Astronomer announced (archived here) that its CEO had resigned.
