Fact Check: Satirical Damien Slash Video Shows Him Saying He Got Fired Over Charlie Kirk Comments -- Not Real Satire

Did a man named Damien Slash get fired from a job at Microsoft over comments he made on Bluesky about the killing of Charlie Kirk as he explained in a viral video? No, that's not true: The man with the nose ring who said he worked for six years building the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion department is actually a comedian. The bio information of his social media accounts say he engages in parody, satire and trolling.

The video appeared on several of Slash's accounts for example as a TikTok video (archived here) published on September 13, 2025 with a description that read:

sorry not sorry

This is what the thumbnail of the video looked like on TikTok:

In the video, the man can be heard saying:

I made some stupid comments about Charlie Kirk and the day that he was shot. I said some things on Bluesky and on Threads that I'm sorry not sorry for but I said them and I deleted them when it was requested that I do so by my employer.

And then today on a weekend, on a weekend, I'm told that I am no longer employed at Microsoft after six years building the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Department from scratch.

I lose my job because one of you, some random person, reports my posts to my employer, goes out of their way to find out where I work and takes my job, takes my security away from me for a thought, for an opinion. And you talk about freedom of speech, like you care about it.

And you're just going to take my my money, my life, my food off my plate because I don't like Charlie Kirk. That's not okay. It is not okay to target me because I felt joy that day. I can't help how I feel. I felt joy. That's me. That's what I believe. That's what I think of of him. I can't help that.

So, I don't deserve a job?

However the bio of the account in question (archived here) read:

Parody 🐸 Satire 🐸 anti comedy

Slash posted similar videos on Instagram (archived here) and X (archived here):

On those platforms, the bio of his accounts (archived here and here) read:

Comedian
🐸 Trolls 🐸 Satire 🐸 Poe's Law 🐸

and

Comedian/Level 9000 troll. Parody & Poe's Law content creator. 🐸 Featured by Fox News, Sky News, Daily Wire, MSNBC.

respectively.
