Did Simone Biles write a "lengthy, emotionally charged" blog post about Charlie Kirk, days after his assassination in September 2025? No, that's not true: As of September 19, the gymnast's website and social media profiles contain no trace of a post of any kind about Kirk. Accounts of an explosive criticism of Kirk were completely fabricated.
The claim appeared in a September 18, 2025 blog post (archived here), which bore the headline:
"Fire After the Funeral: Simone Biles's Rebuke of Charlie Kirk Ignites a National Debate on Respect and Reckoning"
It read:
Just days after the passing of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk--the man who, in her most vulnerable moment, became her most vicious public antagonist--Biles dropped a lengthy, emotionally charged blog post.
It was an unscheduled, unannounced bombshell that landed with the force of a tectonic event, instantly reviving one of the most toxic feuds in recent memory. The post, a raw account of the pain inflicted by Kirk's words, has forced a raw and uncomfortable question upon all of us: Was this a profound act of courage, a victim finally reclaiming her narrative? Or was it a cold, calculated act of vengeance, timed for maximum impact when her adversary could no longer respond?
In reality, it was none of those things, because it did not exist.
As of September 19, Biles's website contained no trace of a September 2025 post about Kirk, who was shot dead on September 10, as did her Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X accounts.
It was also not the case that Biles had published such an essay on the website of a third party: a search of Google News (archived here) and Yahoo! News (archived here) yielded no relevant results on September 19.
In 2021, Kirk criticised Biles's decision to withdraw from several events at that year's Tokyo Olympics (archived here).
