Did an exit poll show that 92% of California voters thought Proposition 50 was a ballot measure to impeach President Trump? No, that's not true: The claim originated from a post on a satiric X account on which the original poster of the 92% claim repeatedly made it clear he was being sarcastic. There is no publicly available exit poll showing that question, let alone that statistic.
The statistic was widely repeated on social media, including this November 6, 2025 X post (archived here) on the @DerrickEvans4WV account, with text that read "Exit polls in California show that 92% of voters who voted yes on prop 50 thought they were voting to impeach Trump.". It continued:
This is how dumb voters are. They were tricked into believing they had the power of impeachment 🤣
The @DerrickEvans4WV text was displayed like this on X at the time this fact check was written:

That statistic, 92%, originated in a November 4, 2025 X post on the @ChefGruel account, (archived here) which often features sarcasm and parody/satire of a conservative stripe.
In this case, the original poster responded to a comment "please be satire lol" with "Yes".
To the comment "Links?" comment - a common request for a link to the source of a piece of information - the original poster responded with a picture of sausage links:

Proposition 50 is a California constitutional amendment that "Authorizes temporary changes to congressional district maps in response to Texas' partisan redistricting" according to the California Legislature's office of policy analysis. Closely watched across the nation, the November 5, 2025 vote on the measure saw exit polling by ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, among others. A search of the Google News index of thousands of news sites (archived here) found zero news reports of an exit poll in which 92% of Prop 50 voters said Proposition 50 was a vote to impeach President Trump.
