Fact Check: Fake Kristi Noem Quote About Super Bowl Halftime and Jesus Writing The Bible In English Originated From Satire Page Satire Origin

Did Kristi Noem say "If Jesus wanted America to speak Spanish and have the Super Bowl half time show in a foreign language, he would not have written the Bible in English."? No, that's not true: Noem did not say this. This fake quote came from a meme shared by a satire page that included a small watermark with the disclaimer, "@Mrs. Putin Satire".

The meme was reposted on X (archived here) by @WW3finalboss on February 10, 2026. The caption opened:

🇺🇸✝️ Did a U.S. Cabinet secretary really say this?

Kristi Noem reportedly claimed: "If Jesus wanted America to speak Spanish, he wouldn't have written the Bible in English."

Let's pause--because history exists.

The image included with the post (pictured below) has slightly different wording than what was quoted in the caption:

If Jesus wanted America to speak Spanish and have the Super Bowl half time show in a foreign language, he would not have written the Bible in English.

The image has several @Mrs. Putin and @Mrs. Putin Satire watermarks. Changes to the Fox News logo and the Homeland Security Secretary's name and title are additional clues the meme is satirical. The @WW3finalboss caption continues, seeming to earnestly debunk the fake quote, saying:

Jesus Christ lived in the 1st century. The Gospels were written in Greek, with Jesus himself speaking Aramaic. The Torah (Old Testament) was written in Ancient Hebrew. Old English didn't even begin to appear until the 5th century--about 400 years after Jesus' death.

So no--Jesus didn't write the Bible.
He didn't write it in English.
And he certainly didn't write about events that happened after he died.

What's striking isn't just the ignorance--it's the confidence. This is the kind of rhetoric you expect from internet trolls, not from a senior official in the Donald Trump administration.

Americans, honest question: are you comfortable being represented like this on the world stage?

The meme was originally posted on Facebook (archived here) by the page Mrs. Putin on Feb. 10, 2026. The page carries a Satire/Parody label:

A fictional character based on a selfish crook who inadvertently found wealth and power. ** This page publishes hateful and stupid messages it receives.
-Satire/Parody -Palm Beach, FL -Trump University

The post was captioned:

Kristi Noem is a REAL CHRISTIAN and LOVES AMERICA. The rest of you should follow her example if you are REAL patriots.
