Fact Check: Netanyahu Video Does NOT Display 2024 Date on Coffee Shop Register -- It Says "15/03/2026" 2026 Date

Does the screen of the coffee shop register in a video recently shared by Benjamin Netanyahu show a date stamp from 2024? No, that's not true: Lead Stories examined the highest resolution version of Netanyahu's video. The date stamp visible on the register's screen reads "15/03/2026."

The claim appeared in a March 15, 2026, post by the X account @merlinscapital (archived here). It was captioned:

SMOKING GUN - MONITOR LITERALLY SAYS 2024 ON IT NETANYAHU IS DEAD

The post features two screenshot images (pictured below): one shows a portion of the scene at the coffee shop counter, and the other shows a zoomed-in detail of the register screen.

This fact check focuses on the date appearing on the register screen, not conspiracies based on misreading a low-resolution screenshot.

The original video (archived here) was posted on the verified X account of Benjamin Netanyahu on March 15, 2026 (embedded below).

Lead Stories took a detail screenshot from the highest (2160p or 4K) resolution version of the video (pictured below). For a brief moment at 57 seconds, the date on the register screen appears in sharp enough focus to read: 15/03/2026.
