Fact Check: FAKE Donald Trump Truth Social Post Claims Israel Is 'A Far More Important Ally Than The American People' Bogus Post

Did President Donald Trump say Israel is "a far more important ally than the American people"? No, that is not true: The supposed post does not appear on the president's official Truth Social account, and there are no reliable reports that it ever did. While Trump did praise Israel as "a GREAT Ally of the United States of America" in April 2026, he did not say it was more important than the American people.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by the warriorjoe78 account on Threads on Apr. 19, 2026. It read:

Here you go, MAGAts. He's telling you that you're not the most important people to him. You're not his main priority. That may not be what you voted for but it's what you elected.

This is what the post looked like on Threads at the time of writing:

The text included in the fake screenshot read:

Israel is our top ally. In fact, they're a far more important ally than the American people themselves. That is why I have taken out Iran to help them. And further, they are important because they are God's chosen people, and as a newfound Christian who reads the Bible, I now realize that Israel is God's sacred people, and they are going to heaven even though they haven't accepted Jesus.

Lead Stories manually reviewed Trump's Truth Social account for recent posts that contained the entire phrase "far more important ally than the American people," and also searched Trump's Truth, a website that archives Trump's Truth Social posts, for the same phrase from Apr. 18, 2026, to Apr. 20, 2026 (the fake post is dated Apr. 19, 2026). No matching posts were found (archived here).

In a post (archived here) on Truth Social on Apr. 18, 2026, Trump praised Israel as "a GREAT Ally of the United States of America," but he did not say Israel is "a far more important ally than the American people." This is what the post looked like at the time of writing:

Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo! News (archived here) and did not find any matching reports for "Trump said Israel is 'a far more important ally than the American people.'" Had the president actually made such a post, major news outlets would have widely reported it.
