Fact Check: FAKE Video Shows Tiger Escaping Enclosure While Keeper Cleans With Hose AI-Generated

Does a video show a real incident where a tiger escaped its cage while a keeper was cleaning the hall with a hose? No, that's not true: This video is AI-generated. It was originally published on Instagram by an account that posts almost exclusively videos of close encounters between keepers and dangerous animals.

The account does not disclose the videos are AI-generated, but describes their content as "near-miss moments caught on camera. Real tension, lastsecond outcomes, zero gore." A detection tool determined with 99.9 percent confidence that the video was AI-generated.

The video appeared in a post (archived here) on X by @glbrief on April 16, 2026. It was captioned:

OMG😱
Only God can save here

The AI-generated content detection tool at Hive Moderation determined with 99.9 percent confidence that the video was AI-generated. There are also glitches in the video that point to the AI origin, notably the spray nozzle and green hose, which appear to be in pieces yet are still able to spray water.

Lead Stories used Google Lens reverse image search to look for copies of the video. The earliest video (archived here) was posted on Instagram on March 22, 2026 by @ipixelpulsei. The account's tagline reads:

PixelPulse delivers intense near-miss moments caught on camera. Real tension, lastsecond outcomes, zero gore just the pulse

In the thumbnails of the account's reels (archived here, pictured below) there are five videos featuring animated characters resembling fruit. These were all posted on April 15, 2026. More than 50 additional videos posted in March 2026 show scenes from what appears to be the off-exhibit holding enclosures at a zoo. They depict a keeper hosing or sweeping a hall while animals -- including chimps, bears, tigers and wild dogs -- slip out of their enclosures into the keeper's space.
