Fact Check: Rep. Jack Kimble Post Saying They Make Less Than $200K For 140 Days Of Work Is NOT From Real Congressman -- It's Parody Account Parody Account

Is a post by Rep. Jack Kimble warning that members of Congress don't even make "$200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days" from a real member of Congress? No, that's not true: The Rep. Jack Kimble account on X.com is a parody account. However, the replies to these posts indicate people are often tricked by the messages and believe Kimble is a real congressman.

The claim appeared in a May 16, 2026, post by @RepJackKimble on X.com (archived here). It opened:

Just a friendly warning. We don't even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren't properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.

This is what the post with replies looked like on X at the time of writing:

The account @RepJackKimble is a parody of a member of Congress and posts frequent messages trolling people with inane political statements. The bio on X claims he is the Republican representing California's 54th district. This is not true, as California does not have 54 seats in Congress. The state only has 52 seats (archived here).

The website JackKimble.com linked to in the X bio has no official information and only asks for an email with the message below:

Parody account @RobertMSterling (archived here) captured replies to Kimble's message that clearly did not get the joke, writing "Hang it in the Louvre" to say it was a masterpiece of comedy:
