Fact Check: Art Exhibition Featuring Elderly Woman's Dead Body Was NOT Created After Ann Widdecombe's Death Old Exhibit

Was an art exhibition featuring an elderly woman's dead body created after the death of former Conservative Member of Parliament Ann Widdecombe? No, that's not true: The exhibit predates Widdecombe's death by more than two months. The artist who created the exhibition uploaded a video of it to TikTok in April 2026. Widdecombe died on July 8, 2026.

The claim appeared in a post and video (archived here) by the @Dbow500 account on X on July 21, 2026. It read:

DISGUSTING "ART" GALLERY IS PROMOTING THE MURDER OF ANN WIDDECOMBE WITH THIS EVIL INSTALLATION!
This is what a screenshot of the video in the post looked like:

The video in the post is embedded below:
The art exhibition shown in the video has nothing to do with the death of Widdecombe (archived here), who was beaten to death with a hammer and died on July 8, 2026. Olivia Herring (@oliviaherringart) is the artist who created the traveling exhibit called "STILL LIFE: Woman on the Floor." She uploaded a video (archived here) of an earlier staging of it to TikTok on April 22, 2026. Widdecombe died 11 weeks later. A screenshot of the video appears below:

A later staging of the exhibit is seen in the post that claims it promotes "Widdecombe's murder." That video, mirror-flipped, comes from a post (archived here) on Herring's Instagram account on July 19, 2026, 11 days after Widdecombe died.
The post is embedded below:
While a version of the exhibition appeared online after Widdecombe's death, it is not a response to her death. It is an artistic statement that predates Widdecombe's death.
