Fact Check: NO EVIDENCE Timothy Donahue Was ICE Agent Who Shot, Killed Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Maine Not Named

Is Timothy Donahue the ICE agent who shot and killed Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Maine on July 13, 2026? No, that's not true: Neither Immigration and Customs Enforcement nor the Maine Attorney General's Office has released the identity of the federal immigration agent involved in the shooting. A news report in April 2026 also identifies Donahue as a Border Patrol agent.

The claim appeared in a post and images (archived here) by the @XyxvYella account on X on July 15, 2026. It read:

Timothy Donahue the ICE Nazi Agent who killed an innocent young father in Maine, is already known as racist bigot who beating and Pointed a gun on an handcuffed Man in Evanston/Chicago January 2026.

This is what the images in the post looked like:

In a July 16, 2026, email to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Lead Stories asked whether the agency had released the name of the agent involved in the shooting and, if so, whether the name was Timothy Donahue. An ICE spokesperson responded the same day without identifying the officer. Their statement read:

DHS [Department of Homeland Security] will never confirm or deny attempts to dox our law enforcement officers. Doxxing our officers put their lives and their families in serious danger. Our law enforcement officers are on the frontlines arresting terrorists, gang members, murderers, pedophiles, and rapists. Now, thanks to the malicious rhetoric of sanctuary politicians, they are under constant threat from violent agitators. They are facing a 1,300% increase in assaults against them, a 3,300% increase in vehicular attacks against them, and an 8,000% increase in death threats against them. Publicizing their identities puts their lives and the lives of their families at serious risk.

The ICE officer in question has nearly a decade of federal law enforcement experience with required training.

ICE is an agency of DHS.

Lead Stories also contacted the Office of the Maine Attorney General, which is also investigating the shooting of Guerrero, and asked the same questions about the agent's identity. Executive Assistant Rebecca Stefansky said this in a July 16, 2026, email:

At this time, the Office of the Attorney General has no additional information to share about its investigation.

Officer images

The social media post shows two images. It identifies the officer in each as Donahue. On July 16, 2026, Lead Stories conducted reverse image searches for each, using Google Images. The photos are of two different men.

First image

The reverse image search (archived here) for the image on the left linked Lead Stories to an Evanston Now story (archived here) published on April 29, 2026, that identified the man in the photo as Donahue, a Border Patrol agent, not an ICE agent:

Second image

The reverse image search (archived here) for the image on the right linked Lead Stories to another Evanston Now story (archived here), published Nov. 14, 2025, that identified the man in the photo as Thomas Parsons, Donahue's partner and another Border Patrol agent.

Donahue and Parsons are accused of denying medical care to a man they arrested on Oct. 31, 2025, in Evanston, Illinois, according to a report published by Capitol News Illinois (archived here) on April 30, 2026.

News report

In a report published July 16, 2026, the Portland Press Herald (archived here) identified the ICE agent who shot Guerrero as David Michael Brouillette, citing the man's ex-wife. According to the newspaper, she said he called her, "admitting to the shooting and defending his actions."
